Magnetic Pads under the Mattress or on Top?

Magnetic Pads under the Mattress or on Top?

Which one is better?

  • Uni-pole Block Magnets - the type of magnets used by some manufacturers because of their lower cost.
  • Uni-pole Disc Magnets – these are a superior magnet and, although they cost more, they are more effective on a fuller range of people.
  • Uni-pole magnets have a North and a South pole.
  • The North pole radiates energy which is known to reduce inflammation, increase blood flow as well as other beneficial results.
  • The South pole radiates energy which is know to stimulate and cause restlessness. This is not the energy that is appropriate for sleeping.

The magnetic power (Gauss) decreases exponentially the farther away the magnets are from the body.

  • The closer the magnet is to the body, the better results you will obtain.
  • The farther away it is, the less effective it will be.

IMPORTANT NOTE:

Block magnets, because of their shape, have substantially more South pole bleed-through than the disc shaped magnets. When there are not enough magnets and they are not placed close enough together the block magnets allow this South pole bleed-through, which allows energy to rise towards the direction of the body.

  • This causes restlessness and anxiety in some people and may also accelerate growth in abnormal cells.
  • This South pole bleed-through balances when the block magnets are 2 to 4 inches away from the body and at that point you receive a uniform magnetic field.
  • This is why the block magnetic pad manufacturers want you to place the magnetic pad under the mattress.
  • The problem at this point is that the magnets are now 8 to 12 inches from the body and the magnetic strength (Gauss) is dramatically weakened.
  • The disc magnets emit a balanced North pole field when they are about ½ inch away.
  • When you combine the disc magnets with a manufacturer who puts a large number of magnets close together, you receive a balanced and uniform North pole magnetic field.
  • This quality of pad can be placed on TOP of the mattress (not under it like the block magnets must be) and allows a substantially higher magnetic strength to penetrate the body for better results.

The high quality pads this article describes would be the Super High Density; the Advanced Memory Foam and the Advanced Memory Foam High Mass Pads
